LMR competition
Project type
Robotics competition
At the LMR competition, an annual educational event for students hosted by the Science Club team, our team was tasked with designing and building two robots that could work together to overcome a variety of challenges in different environmental conditions. As part of the mechanical team on the project, my role was to design, produce, and test the robot arms to ensure their proper functionality.
Our system consisted of two robots: a main robot designed to complete tasks and a smaller robot tasked with navigating a maze and opening a gate to allow the main robot to continue its work. Through the use of powerful off-road tires and 4-wheeled robots with torque DC motors at low RPM, we were able to gain traction and achieve superior performance in challenging conditions. Our well-actuated mechanical system was paired with an efficient control system that allowed for smooth and fast task completion. Out of 12 teams, we were honored to place third overall and received recognition for the best design.
We are proud of our achievements and focused on taking home the first-place prize in future competitions. Our ultimate goal is to demonstrate the power and potential of collaborative robotics, pushing the boundaries of what can be accomplished in the field.
